Citywide Parks Master Plan Update
Newark’s Citywide Parks Master Plan Update provides a strategic framework for the future development and provision of parks across the city. Building on the foundation of the 2017 Citywide Parks Master Plan, this update re-evaluates prior recommendations considering current needs, community preferences, and existing conditions. The Master Plan Update identifies recreational needs, explores opportunities to enhance the existing parks network, and assesses the feasibility of introducing new amenities. It also includes a thorough evaluation of the city’s current infrastructure, conducts a recreation needs assessment, and establishes a plan for implementing priority projects. The City contracted with RHAA Landscape Architecture & Planning Inc. to develop the plan update.
