Registration for this year's event is now CLOSED.
Confirmed registrants can expect to receive a home delivery of two free bags of high-quality compost between April 27 and May 8, 2026 by Republic Services.

Climate Action Newark
The City of Newark adopted a Climate Action Plan in 2010 and has since taken steps to implement the activities outlined in the Plan and monitor results. Learn more.
The City of Newark has adopted an updated version of its Climate Action Plan —titled Climate Action Newark (CAN)! — CAN serves as a comprehensive framework to mitigate the impacts of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. CAN provides a roadmap for the City to prioritize actions that reduce GHG emissions in alignment with state targets, promoting environmental, social, economic, and public health benefits to the community. Strategies included in CAN will reduce GHG emissions from transportation, buildings, solid waste, and water use.
