Help Shape Newark’s Public Art
Applications Now Open
The City of Newark is accepting applications for the newly formed Public Art Committee. This committee helps guide public art projects throughout the city—such as murals, installations, and creative placemaking efforts—that reflect Newark’s character and community. The Public Art Committee serves in an advisory role to the City Council and supports the planning and development of visual public art across Newark.

Terms of Service

Voting members serve four-year terms

Initial appointments: two members will serve two-year terms and three members will serve four-year terms

The non-voting advisory member serves a one-year term

Members may be reappointed, subject to the Mayor’s recommendation and City Council approval

All positions are voluntary and unpaid. Newark residency is not required to apply. Please refer to the report for additional details.

City Hall is open Monday – Thursday and every other Friday from 8 am – 2 pm. -
