The City of Newark is seeking bids from interested firms for the above-mentioned project. The improvements generally consist of the following: remove existing median curb and gutter, landscaping, and rock cobble. Construct median curb and gutter and rock cobble surfacing. Relocate signage, perform pavement tie-ins, remove and install thermoplastic striping, adjust utility boxes to grade, and modify irrigation system.

NEWARK ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECTS
The City of Newark is seeking bids from interested firms for the above-mentioned project. The work generally consists of roof replacement and related improvements at the Newark Service Center, Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center, and Second Chance Shelter. The work includes steep-slope and low-slope roof replacement, substrate preparation, replacement of deteriorated sheathing and fascia where directed, skylights, roof hatches, roof-hatch safety rails, walk pads, gutters, downspouts, flashings, penetrations, temporary weather protection, cleanup, warranties, closeout documents, and related work.
The bid opening date is 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
No pre-bid meeting is scheduled for this project. However, bidders are strongly urged to visit the job sites before submitting bids. Submission of a bid shall be considered as an acknowledgement of site investigation. The work will be performed at the following City facilities:
- Newark Service Center 37440 Filbert Street
- Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center 6800 Mowry Avenue
- Second Chance Shelter 6519 Central Avenue
Written questions shall be submitted by email no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Questions received after that time shall not be considered. Answers to written questions will be provided to all contract document holders no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 15, 2026.

The improvements are generally described as follows: “Asphalt concrete overlay and patch paving on various streets within the City of Newark. The scope of work includes traffic control, asphalt concrete roadway surface wedge/conform/full width grinding, localized full depth asphalt concrete patch paving of various depths, grading, placement of asphalt concrete, installation of temporary pavement delineation, replacing and/or adjusting existing utility/City monument frames and covers to finished grade, application of thermoplastic traffic striping and pavement legends, replacing and installing traffic signal loops and installing handholes, and other related items of work as needed to complete the public works improvements".

The City has completed its review of bids received for Bid No. 2026-518, Extreme Network Equipment. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the bid and award a contract to PC Solutions & Integration, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for the Core Network Equipment Replacement Project in an amount not to exceed $350,476.11.
This recommendation is scheduled for consideration at the June 25, 2026 City Council meeting. Award of the contract is subject to City Council approval.
Any bid protest must be submitted in accordance with the protest procedures and deadlines stated in the bid documents.

The City of Newark is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide landscape maintenance services for City-owned properties and Lighting/Landscape District properties throughout the City. The selected contractor shall provide routine landscape maintenance, irrigation system operation and repair, litter and debris removal, weed control, pruning, fertilization, hazard response, and authorized extra work for designated service areas.
