AC Transit
AC Transit operates several bus routes through Newark, connecting riders to neighboring cities and BART stations. AC Transit also provides supplemental services to schools in 17 cities throughout the East Bay. See Supplementary Service Lines & Schedules here.
Newark itself does not have a dedicated Amtrak station, but convenient options are available in nearby cities. The closest is Fremont Centerville Station, located just 2-4 miles from Newark. This station is served by the Amtrak Capitol Corridor, which runs between San Jose and Sacramento, passing through key East Bay cities like Oakland. It provides a practical option for commuters and travelers looking to reach destinations across the Bay Area or the Central Valley.
The Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) also serves nearby Fremont. ACE is a weekday commuter rail service connecting the Central Valley (Stockton, Tracy, Livermore) to the Silicon Valley area, including San Jose. It’s especially popular for commuters traveling between the East Bay and the Central Valley.
ACE occasionally offers special services for events such as Super Bowl, conveniently dropping fans off right in front of Levi’s Stadium. Check their website ahead of time to make sure tickets are available as special service is not provided regular season games.
